Dakota Kai has been absent from WWE television for several weeks, and fans have started to wonder if she’s been quietly benched. But that’s not the case at all.
Despite the speculation, WWE hasn’t pulled her from action. The current plan is to bring Dakota Kai back when the full Damage CTRL faction returns. While that return timeline is still up in the air, she isn’t being sidelined due to injury or creative disinterest.
In fact, Kai should still be active on Main Event or working in some capacity while the company waits for the right moment to reunite the group. The idea is to bring her back into the spotlight as part of a larger return with her stablemates.
Dakota Kai recently addressed her absence on social media, clearing the air directly. “I miss wrestling and I miss you guys. Not hurt btw!” she wrote, making it clear her break isn’t health-related.
Her last appearance on WWE television was on the March 17th episode of Monday Night RAW, where she defeated Ivy Nile. She followed that up with another win against Nile on the March 24th episode of Main Event—her most recent match to date.
Kairi Sane has also been out since December but is expected to return soon. Meanwhile, Asuka’s return timeline remains uncertain, which may be a factor in the delay of Damage CTRL’s full reunion.
Dakota Kai’s absence isn’t a sign of WWE losing interest—it’s a matter of timing. With Damage CTRL’s return being lined up, the company appears to be holding off until the group is ready to make a full impact. Fans just want to see Kai back in the mix, and it looks like that return is coming—just not quite yet.
Do you think Dakota Kai should be featured as a singles star in the meantime, or should WWE hold off until Damage CTRL is back in full force? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
