AJ Lee may have submitted Becky Lynch at Survivor Series: WarGames, but fans expecting a full-blown return were left disappointed when she vanished from RAW the very next night. Now we know what’s really going on — and it’s not a swerve, it’s just part of the deal.

In an update, Sean Ross Sapp cleared the air during Fightful’s post-RAW show, addressing why AJ Lee wasn’t on TV this week and what her current WWE schedule looks like. Turns out, this wasn’t a full-time comeback — and never was.

“So AJ Lee will come and go. When I saw people posting right after her return saying, ‘Oh, she's back and it's full time,’ I was like, ‘Hold on, partner, before we giddy up here.’ That’s not what I was hearing.”

It’s not like Survivor Series was her one-off. AJ’s actually been popping in and out of WWE for the past couple of months, appearing in short bursts. For WarGames, she was involved for about two weeks leading into the match — and then stepped back out again.

“As you can see, there hasn’t been anything close to a full-time return yet. She showed up for a couple of weeks, did the WarGames build, and now she’s gone again.”

According to Sapp, there’s no backstage drama or creative fallout — this is just AJ setting her own pace.

“It’s completely fine for her to be working a part-time schedule. This is her first time back in years and years.”

AJ Lee’s return has already made a splash with fans and delivered one of the most memorable finishes of the night, but don’t expect her to be cutting weekly promos just yet. This comeback is more like a series of strategic cameos than a full-on run — at least for now.
