WWE fans were left scratching their heads when RAW General Manager Adam Pearce was nowhere to be seen on last week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. Now we know why—and no, it had nothing to do with WWE’s recent wave of cuts.

According to PWInsider.com, Pearce’s absence was fully planned. “The word making the rounds is that Pearce had a pre-scheduled surgical procedure and missed the TV taping due to that surgery,” the outlet reported. That means there was no behind-the-scenes drama or sudden shake-up behind his brief disappearance.

With WWE releasing several talents and staff recently, fans naturally speculated whether Pearce had quietly been part of the cuts. But the report shut that down quickly, stating that Pearce has not been let go from the company as part of the recent releases.

In fact, Pearce is already back in action—at least virtually. He’s been active on social media resuming his General Manager role, making match announcements and interacting with fans as usual.

While Pearce’s absence sparked concern during an already chaotic time in WWE, it looks like his job is secure—and he’s on the mend after a scheduled medical procedure.
