WWE has seen a ton of stars from other avenues of sports and entertain make their way to the company’s television programming. Although those appearances can sometimes take a fair amount of planning, that isn’t always the case.
During the November 17 episode of WWE RAW, Cam Skattebo got involved in a match, and it was great to see him for New York Giants fans. After all, Skattebo suffered a terrible injury in recent memory.
Giants running back Cam Skattebo may be on the injured list with an ankle issue, but that didn’t stop him from getting involved during WWE Raw at Madison Square Garden. As he was sitting at ringside with some teammates and comedian Andrew Schulz, Skattebo watched as Judgment Day approached the group after their six-man tag team loss to John Cena, Rey Mysterio, and Sheamus. The situation escalated when Skattebo pushed JD McDonagh to the floor, setting off a brief ringside scuffle before WWE security stepped in.
Sean Ross Sapp reported on Fightful Select that Skattebo’s involvement was arranged the same day WWE Raw aired. The segment was planned with minimal physical involvement, and Skattebo is known to be a longtime wrestling fan.
It was also reported that the New York Giants did not raise any concerns regarding Skattebo’s participation in the appearance. We will have to see if he appears at any future WWE shows as he recovers.
Although this appearance apparently came together on the same day that RAW aired, WWE released several Cam Skattebo t-shirts after he was seen on screen. Obviously, WWE is running a top-notch merchandise operation with Fanatics.
