Pro wrestling is known for plans changing at the last minute. Any number of things can contribute to making that decision, and now we have another instance of that happening.
WWE fans were expecting to see Blake Monroe make her main roster debut. That being said, things didn’t work out as they initially thought.
Blake Monroe attacked Thea Hail to start their Women’s North American Title match at NXT New Year’s Evil. The match never happened, but then Thea lost the title later on in the night to Izzi Dame.
Sean Ross Sapp reported on Fightful Select that the decision to keep the Blake Monroe vs. Thea Hail match off NXT was not made at the last minute.
According to the report, the call had been in place for a couple of weeks, with plans adjusted well ahead of time rather than changing on the day of the show. We will have to see what happens next for everyone involved.
Blake Monroe has been impressing pro wrestling fans for a long time now. The former AEW Women’s World Champion made her way to WWE’s NXT brand, but she may not stay there much longer. Obviously, she will make a splash wherever she shows up next.
