TNA Wrestling just got a dose of star power—again. Cassie Lee and Jess McKay, best known as The IInspiration (formerly The IIconics in WWE), made their surprise return at Against All Odds, and now we know when it all went down behind the scenes.

According to Fightful Select, the pair signed their new TNA contracts at least a week before their surprise appearance during the Against All Odds kickoff show. Sources close to the situation confirmed the deals are “under one year in length, with the option to mutually extend if all sides are happy.”

Their comeback wasn’t just a nostalgic pop. TNA had been quietly teasing the return of two former champions in the lead-up to the event, and the payoff came moments after Ash by Elegance and Heather by Elegance retained the Knockouts World Tag Team Titles. Lee and McKay walked out to a massive reaction—officially re-entering TNA’s growing Knockouts tag division.

While one TNA source originally suggested that “regime changes likely led to their return,” that narrative has now been walked back. It’s being said that Lee and McKay “had good relationships on a personal and professional level with previous management,” especially with Knockouts legend Gail Kim. In truth, the duo’s time away had more to do with growing their families. Now, they’re ready to pick up where they left off—and maybe even reclaim gold.

With their last run in TNA already having championship gold attached to it, don’t be surprised if The IInspiration wastes no time gunning for the Knockouts Tag Titles again.
