Jack Perry has been absent from AEW television since dropping the TNT Title to Daniel Garcia at Full Gear, and fans have been left wondering what happened to the former champion. Now, a new update from Fightful Select suggests that Perry’s absence isn’t due to injury.

During a recent Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp was asked, “What’s the deal with Jack Perry?” Sapp clarified that there’s been no indication that Perry is dealing with any injuries. “I haven’t heard that he was injured,” Sapp said. “The last I heard, he was supposed to have a little program with Kenny Omega upon Kenny’s return and it didn’t happen. Last I saw, he was making cool sht in his backyard — like forging stuff, forging iron, things like that.”*

According to Sapp, AEW originally considered Perry for a feud with Kenny Omega when Omega made his return to TV, but the plan was scrapped, and AEW decided to go in a different direction.

Jack Perry might not be injured, but with AEW scrapping his plans with Kenny Omega, his future on television remains uncertain. Will AEW find a spot for the former TNT Champion, or is Perry being left on the sidelines while others take the spotlight? Stay tuned — this story is far from over.
