Wardlow just can’t catch a break. After being off AEW television for over a year, the powerhouse finally made his long-awaited return—only to suffer an injury that could knock him right back out of action.

According to a report from Fightful Select, sources within AEW believe Wardlow may have sustained a torn pectoral muscle during or shortly after his comeback angle. The exact moment of the injury isn’t confirmed, but the timing couldn’t be worse for a star who had already spent a year rehabbing and waiting for the right time to return.

“Sources in AEW that we spoke to said that the injury is feared to be a torn pectoral muscle, which would sideline him for quite some time.”

Wardlow had been medically cleared months ago, but remained off television while filming the first two seasons of American Gladiators, which has now wrapped. His AEW return was seen as a fresh start—but now that may be on pause again. There’s still a chance he could stay on TV in a limited capacity.

“There is the possibility he could remain on TV in an enforcer role.”

Many in the AEW locker room were reportedly gutted by the news, especially knowing how much effort Wardlow put into getting healthy and back on screen.

“A number of talent we spoke to were bummed out about the news after Wardlow had waited so long to get back on TV and battled injuries.”

Wardlow’s run has been plagued with stop-start momentum, and this latest setback only adds to the frustration—for both the performer and his fans.

How do you think AEW should use Wardlow while he recovers? Should he remain on TV as an enforcer or take more time off? Sound off in the comments and let us know your take.
