Wade Barrett is stepping in for Pat McAfee on the January 20 edition of Monday Night Raw from Dallas, Texas.
With McAfee heading to ESPN to cover the College Football National Championship between Ohio State and Notre Dame, WWE had to find a replacement—and Barrett just made it official during SmackDown.
The Raw commentary situation has been a hot topic ever since WWE made major broadcast changes to start 2025. With McAfee’s return, Michael Cole was moved back to Monday nights, leaving former Raw commentator Corey Graves in limbo. Graves, one of WWE’s most experienced voices behind the desk, was instead sent to NXT—a move he clearly wasn’t thrilled about.
After venting his frustrations in now-deleted tweets, Graves was pulled from TV, and his status remains up in the air. WWE has yet to confirm when, or if, he’ll return to the main roster commentary booth.
Meanwhile, WWE has announced that Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre will go head-to-head on Raw, with JBL also set to make an appearance. The New Day will be in action, though their opponents haven’t been revealed yet.
With Barrett taking over for McAfee and Graves still off TV, Raw’s commentary shake-up continues to be a major talking point.
