Vince Russo’s The Brand Recap – WWE Working on Christmas Day, Concussion Issues, Is WWE’s Charity Work Sincere? More!

Russo says if he was working in WWE right now he’d lose his job over this. There’s no way he’d work Christmas Day and he’d make a stand against that. If WWE chose to fire him because of that then he’d be prepared to die on that hill.

In another controversial story last week, Baron Corbin is reportedly being punished for having a respectful back and forth conversation with a concussion doctor. The doctor was brought in by WWE to talk to the Superstars and was apparently disputing the fact that football, professional wrestling and other contact sports have a lasting affect on brain activity. Being a retired NFL player who suffered concussions, Corbin respectfully argued with the doctor’s opinions and has been punished for doing so.

Russo thinks this is unacceptable by WWE. It’s one thing not to care about your employees, but it’s another thing altogether to bring in a doctor to try to convince them that they’re in no danger of suffering head trauma. Then they simply outdid themselves by punishing an employee who spoke up because it’s a matter that’s near and dear to his heart.

Russo then discusses WWE’s philanthropy. He says that most people or organizations make their charitable contributions and keep their mouths shut because they do it for all the right reasons. On the contrary, WWE brags about all of their charity work. He’s obviously very happy that WWE is putting time and effort into Connor’s Cure in an attempt to combat childhood cancer, but he has to wonder whether their efforts are sincere when they spend half of RAW bragging about all the good they’re doing.
