Luckily, Russo was able to work out an arrangement with the promoter, who was okay with Russo just jumping into the match for the big spots. When Russo showed up at the booking, his vertigo miraculously disappeared either due to adrenaline or the fact that he was back in his element around the wrestling business.
He worked the gig and everything went fine, but he’s been stiff as a board ever since. He was very happy to be there and was lucky enough to make one fan’s night by getting her an autograph from another talent that was working the show.
Russo talks about Hacksaw Jim Duggan’s hatred towards him. He recently saw a series of tweets from Duggan who was being very critical of Russo’s wrestling career, even going as far as saying that Russo killed WCW. Russo has always been a fan of Duggan, who’s a true legend in the wrestling business, and these tweets hurt Russo more than they upset him.
He wonders what he did to Duggan in order to provoke these feelings. When he was booking Duggan in WCW he did everything he could to get Duggan back on television, and he certainly wasn’t trying to bury him during that time. If Duggan had issues back then, Russo wishes he would have discussed those issues with him.
