Russo is joined on today’s show by his co-host Jeff Lane.
Russo says that he exclaimed, “Oh God!” when Sami Zayn’s music interrupted Kevin Owens’ promo on Smackdown Live this week. This has been done 1000 times, but he assumes WWE thinks this was special because it was the first time they fought on Smackdown Live. He says that if his work didn’t require him to watch this show, he would have turned off his television the minute they announced that match as the main event.
He addresses the finish to No Mercy’s main event before getting into his analysis of RAW and Smackdown Live. He says that he didn’t watch the show but he was surprised to hear that Lesnar defeated Strowman with one F5. While Lesnar is still the number 1 guy in the company, WWE could have made Strowman an instant star by having him defeat Lesnar here.
Getting into his RAW analysis, Russo says that Roman Reigns seemed far more relaxed and comfortable than normal while cutting his promo on MizTV this week. He says that maybe Cena brought something out of Reigns, or maybe Vince McMahon took the leash off of Reigns creatively after seeing his work with Cena. Either way, we need to see more of this version of Reigns.
