Gilbertti also says that these dirt sheet writers have no idea what it takes to work a match. They don’t know what it’s like to wake up with a bad back in the morning and have to take painkillers all day just to stay upright, and have to take more just to be able to work a match that night. Then when both competitors work their way through the match and protect each other, Meltzer gives them 0.5 stars. It’s just incomprehensible.

Lane says that Al Snow went on record recently saying that WWE talents have the creative freedom to make some things happen, but they don’t know how to effectively do so. Snow says that when he had his first run in WWE with the ‘Avatar’ character he didn’t know how to take the reigns with this, and he failed to accomplish his goals which led to him blaming everyone other than himself.

Later in his career he began to understand that once he got in the ring Vince McMahon couldn’t do anything to get him over, but he also couldn’t do anything to stop him from getting over. Snow went on to add that McMahon wants all of his performers to succeed because he’s a business man.

Russo says that today’s performers are too concerned with having ‘spotfests’ for matches, and when they’re mesmerizing all those spots they tend to forget about the most important thing; their characters.

That sums up today’s episode of Vince Russo’s The Brand. You can listen to the show yourself anytime here, and I’ll catch ya tomorrow for another recap!
