As previously reported, Brad Shepard reported that Vince McMahon plans to personally fund a separate entity from WWE called Alpha Entertainment. Vince plans to explore other investment opportunities, including professional football under the new company, which could led to the return of XFL.

During today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed Vince McMahon possibly bringing back the “XLF” and mentioned that they probably won’t be using the “XLF” name moving forward.

Meltzer mentioned that VKM Ventures applied to the trademark “United Football League”, “UFL”, and “For the Love of Football” back in September.  Meltzer said that there is a lot of negativity that surrounds the “XFL” name and they will probably be called “UFL” if Vince actually goes through with doing football again.
