Matt Hardy is putting Vince McMahon on full blast — accusing the former WWE boss of deliberately putting people in uncomfortable, humiliating situations just for his own twisted satisfaction.

During an episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Hardy opened up about McMahon’s backstage behavior, noting that WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross was frequently on the receiving end of Vince’s mind games.

“I mean, I felt like Vince had a thing—Vince had a thing for putting people in positions that made them feel uncomfortable, and he kind of got off on that, in all honesty. That was like one of his things.

According to Matt Hardy, it wasn’t just once or twice — it became a disturbing pattern, especially naming Jim Ross.

“That was like one of his things. And I felt like he did that with JR quite a bit. That became a regular, common thing there.”

Hardy went deeper, explaining that showing even a hint of vulnerability in front of McMahon would only make things worse. Vince, he claimed, thrived on pressing people’s buttons.

“There were certain people I felt like—if you ever showed signs of weakness or said, ‘No, I don’t want to do that,’ or if you were outright uncomfortable with it—then he would push it even harder.”

And while Hardy admitted there’s some truth to the idea that growth happens outside your comfort zone, he said McMahon twisted that logic into something more harmful than helpful.

“I feel like sometimes he said—‘If you don’t go into areas or positions where you feel uncomfortable, you will never grow.’ And in some ways, that is true. But in some ways too, I think he was abusive with it as well.”

But the most shocking part? The way McMahon acted while producing shows on the headset — something other WWE talent have talked about for years.

“Vince was a menace whenever he was on headphones. I know because you would say something that triggered him, or he was in a bad mood, and you just never knew what Vince you were going to get.”

Matt Hardy said it all came down to the unpredictability of Vince McMahon’s moods, since no one knew how he was going to act on a certain day.

“You never know which Vince you were going to talk to—whether he woke up on the right side of the bed or the wrong side of the bed.”

McMahon, who stepped down from WWE amid lawsuits and controversy, has long been a polarizing figure. But Hardy’s comments add new fuel to the fire — especially when it comes to how the company treated legendary names like Jim Ross. Whether it was “tough love” or something darker, the stories keep surfacing — and fans are listening.
