AEW has brought in some high-profile names in the past, like Shaq and Snoop Dogg, but they haven’t been able to snag someone on Bad Bunny’s level quite yet. That being said, Tony Khan has a bit of encouragement to shoot his shot at Bad Bunny now.
Tony Khan has never been shy about looking outside the wrestling bubble when it comes to drawing attention to AEW. Celebrity crossovers have been part of his playbook, and music stars bring an audience that could translate into new fans. That is why the idea of Bad Bunny showing up in AEW is a very interesting one.
The idea of Bad Bunny coming to AEW actually picked up steam when U.S. Senator for Arizona Ruben Gallego publicly weighed in on the matter. The politician took to social media and addressed Tony Khan as he suggested that Bad Bunny could be a major addition to All Elite Wrestling.
“Tony Khan, it’s time for AEW to solidify a huge fan base. Bad Bunny love wrestling, need him to make some appearances. Just no stretcher match please.”
Bad Bunny already has a well-documented history with WWE. He trained seriously, took part in storylines, and wrestled against Damian Priest at Backlash 2023 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Bad Bunny also put his music on hold to train for WWE at the Performance Center, which got him a ton of respect backstage as well.
That WWE relationship is important because if AEW is able to get him, that would be a mighty big flex for Tony Khan. After all, WWE was kind of upset when AEW got Snoop Dogg. That being said, Bad Bunny is very busy right now. He’s preparing to take the role as headliner for the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show.
Only time will tell if Bad Bunny ever goes to AEW for any reason. If Tony Khan could get Bad Bunny in AEW, then that would certainly get a lot of fans to tune in. That being said, it would be very interesting to see if AEW can get as much out of Bad Bunny as WWE did.
