Queen Aminata’s neck injury continues to keep her sidelined, and her AEW return has hit another frustrating delay.
During the post-AEW Dynamite show, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp was asked directly about The African Queen’s return status after her neck injury. His update left little room for optimism, as Aminata’s still not cleared to wrestle yet.
“She’s not cleared right now. Let me check—I did get a message about it recently. Yeah, she’s still not cleared.”
Queen Aminata’s been out of action since November 2025 after a severe neck injury forced her out of AEW’s brutal Blood & Guts match. And she explained it all herself on her vlog.
“I was not cleared because my neck is so tight I cannot—now I can’t even move a little bit. And because of that, I got taken out of the match today, and that resulted in me being taken out of Blood & Guts.”
Even then, she’s not just sitting around. Aminata has kept fans in the loop and made it clear she’s serious about healing right.
“Every single time I get hurt and I’m possibly staying home, I change my diet right away… My priority now is to make sure I recover and I recover better than I was prior to injury.”
Let’s not forget: AEW President Tony Khan officially pulled her from the ROH Women’s Pure Title tournament on December 4, giving Deonna Purrazzo the forfeit win. And the worst part? This all comes after Aminata had just returned from a knee injury.
At the time of writing, there is no timetable for her return yet—but fingers crossed, The African Queen will be back in the ring soon, stronger than ever.
