Britt Baker hasn’t appeared on AEW TV for nearly a year, and many expected her to finally return on AEW Dynamite this week in Pittsburgh. After her absence from the show, it seems we have an unfortunate sign about her future in AEW.

According to PWInsider, it was noted that Britt Baker was not backstage at this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

“For those who have asked, we are told Britt Baker was not at last night’s AEW Dynamite taping in Pittsburgh.”

This comes after rumors suggested Britt Baker was actively trying to leave the company, but AEW President Tony Khan shot those down fast. Khan confirmed Baker had “never talked to me about leaving” and explained that her absence is simply due to AEW’s rotating talent policy. He added she’d return “when the time is right.”

Dave Meltzer also reported that if Britt Baker was not going to make her return during the September 24th edition of AEW Dynamite in Pittsburgh, fans might never see her back.

“Whatever the Britt Baker deal really is, if she’s not on this show, I’d think she’d never be back,” Meltzer said.

Britt Baker’s long absence from AEW Dynamite, including skipping a show in her hometown, is fueling doubts about her future with the company. Even though Tony Khan has said she’ll be back, the lack of a clear timeline has fans believing her time in AEW really might be over.
