The Undertaker isn’t holding back—and this time, he’s calling out the locker room for phoning it in during one of WWE’s biggest non-televised events.
Speaking on Cody Rhodes’ “What Do You Want To Talk About?” podcast, The Deadman shared a brutally honest story about a house show in Australia that left him so frustrated, he cut a promo on the talent backstage. The reason? A packed house… and a locker room that gave them nothing.
“We did this show in Australia—huge house show. We did a million-dollar gate, right? And I’m sitting there watching the monitor… and match after match was just dog shit. Guys were dogging it. Just walking through it. No energy, no nothing. I ended up cutting a promo on the crew in the locker room after. Like, we just did a million-dollar gate and this is what we’re giving them?”
The Undertaker didn’t name names, but his disappointment was clear. He spoke about how some of today’s wrestlers haven’t experienced the grind of working in half-empty buildings—and how that lack of perspective can show when the lights are brightest.
“Most of them hadn’t ever worked in front of a half-empty arena like I had in the early days. So now we’ve got sold-out crowds, people spending serious money to be there, and now you're gonna dog it? It just blew my mind. That kind of mindset… it’s why I always say, protect the business. Don’t disrespect the fans like that.”
For Taker, it wasn’t just about performance—it was about respect. Respect for the craft, for the audience, and for the opportunity to wrestle in front of a red-hot crowd that actually paid to see it.
Even in semi-retirement, The Undertaker is still keeping an eye on the industry—and moments like this prove he’s not shy about speaking up when the bar isn’t being met.
