The Undertaker has a lot of respect for many WWE Superstars today, especially the likes of John Cena and CM Punk. Cena is currently on his retirement tour, which will end in December and he will never wrestle again afterwards. That’s why it comes as no surprise that The Undertaker believes that CM Punk also deserves a retirement tour like Cena.
While speaking to CBS Sports, The Undertaker stated that he believes John Cena’s retirement tour is well-deserved because of how much he contributed to WWE over the years.
The Phenom feels that not every wrestler should receive a retirement tour, but Cena has earned it due to his years of hard work. The Undertaker also thinks this type of farewell could become a standard for certain wrestlers as they prepare to leave the industry.
“I think it’s great that they’re doing this tour the way they are. I don’t think everybody deserves that. I think Cena definitely does because of the workhorse that he was for so long. I think this might be the prototype for certain wrestlers to do their swan song and leave.”
WWE’s main event scene includes several wrestlers who are either already over 40 or will reach that milestone in 2025. The Undertaker believes that CM Punk is one of the superstars who deserves a retirement tour similar to John Cena’s, as The Deadman said, “I would say CM Punk is probably one.”
For the record, CM Punk previously stated that he has no intention of announcing a retirement tour like John Cena. Nonetheless, we’ll have to see if Punk will eventually change his mind and have a proper farewell tour, as The Deadman definitely believes he deserves it.
