UFC Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall definitely has some experience in WWE, as he shared the ring with Cody Rhodes and GUNTHER last year. It’s clear he loves WWE and has now revealed whom he would like to face in a WWE ring.

In a new interview with Kiss Xtra, Aspinall talked about his visit to a WWE live event last October, where he appeared in the ring with Cody Rhodes and GUNTHER. Although he wanted to throw a punch and create headlines, UFC officials wouldn’t allow him to get physical, so he settled for cutting a promo instead.

Aspinall praised both Rhodes and GUNTHER, calling them “great guys,” but said his WWE fandom started during the era of The Rock, Randy Orton, and John Cena. While acknowledging that those stars are now considered old school, he said The Rock would still be his ultimate choice for a dream bout.

“I went to a WWE (show) recently and I wanted to do like a little bit, like I wanted to punch someone and just make some good headlines and stuff. Like, that’s what I wanted to do. But UFC actually wouldn’t let me do it. So I got in the ring and did some talking. But it wasn’t the same. I wanted to, like, really be involved with it. He (GUNTHER) was awesome. Great guys. (Cody Rhodes and GUNTHER) Loved them. Loved them both. But, like, I used to watch it when The Rock was in. Randy Orton, John Cena. They were the top boys when I was watching it. Yeah, yeah. But they’re a bit old school now. But probably The Rock.”

This comes after Tom Aspinall already made it clear he is eyeing a future in WWE once he retires from the world of MMA. So we’ll have to see if he will ever compete inside the squared circle as fans would love to see that happen.
