TNA Wrestling’s strategy to lock in key talent ahead of its January 15, 2026 debut on AMC has sparked a wave of speculation—but not all the reported signings are accurate.

While Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez initially reported that TNA had finalized several three-month contracts with talent—including Jake Something, Zachary Wentz, Steve Maclin, and AJ Francis—a new update clarifies that at least two of those names have not officially signed. According to the latest from Fightful Select on December 19:

“As of December 19, Jake Something has not signed a new contract with the company. In addition, Zachary Wentz has also not signed a new deal at this point.”

The confusion appears to stem from early backstage discussions that were mistakenly taken as confirmed agreements. While TNA has offered three-month deals to a number of wrestlers due to over a dozen contracts coming up for renewal, not all of them are finalized. Regarding the other two names:

  • Steve Maclin is believed to have agreed to terms.
  • AJ Francis is also believed to be on board, but has not signed yet.

TNA’s approach reflects a wait-and-see model, as the company prepares for a major platform shift with its AMC premiere. These short-term contracts give talent a chance to evaluate the promotion’s direction before committing long-term—while TNA assesses who fits the evolving roster vision.

As the January launch draws near, fans can expect more updates on which names will officially be part of TNA’s post-Impact era.
