TNA Wrestling quietly hit the brakes on its original 2026 plans and made a major change to the TNA World Title picture.

Frankie Kazarian vs. Mike Santana was first announced for Genesis during the December 11, 2025 episode of iMPACT, when Santana interrupted Kazarian’s “King’s Speech” and staked his claim to the championship. That plan is now officially dead.

During the January 1, 2026 episode of TNA iMPACT, Kazarian retained the TNA World Title against Bear Bronson. But the match immediately became secondary once Santana appeared after the bell and revealed the updated direction. Santana made it clear the rematch will not take place at Genesis and will take place during the AMC debut on iMPACT on January 15, 2026.

With that move, TNA shifted its biggest title match of early 2026 to its new network debut, putting the world championship at the center of the AMC launch.

Also on the January 1 episode of TNA iMPACT, Myron Reed defeated Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz by pinning Wentz. Leon Slater was on commentary for the match. As a result, Reed will now face Leon Slater for the X Division Championship on the January 15 AMC debut episode of iMPACT.
