WWE isn’t wasting time stacking the card for next week’s SmackDown, and the July 4th episode made that crystal clear. The company officially announced two major matches for the July 11 show, setting the stage just before Saturday Night’s Main Event and WWE Evolution.
First up, the WWE Tag Team Championships will be on the line as The Street Profits defend their titles against The Wyatt Sicks.
Also announced, fans will finally get the bizarre showdown they’ve been waiting for—R-Truth versus Aleister Black. Yes, you read that right. WWE is officially booking the two to collide.
The July 11 episode of SmackDown is already loaded with star power, as music star Jelly Roll is also set to make an appearance. WWE sources believe this is only the beginning of a longer relationship between the company and the singer, who has made it clear he has unfinished business in WWE.
With major matches and celebrity appearances locked in, next week’s show is shaping up to be one to watch.
