Social media went into overdrive in the wake of Khan’s shocking announcement. This was only the second time 39-year-old Khan appeared live on AEW’s flagship show in any capacity.
Khan opened the show by thanking fans in attendance and at home watching. He talked about the beginnings of AEW in 2019 and compared it to the launch of ROH in 2002.
Fans took to Twitter to share their two cents on the shocker. Many hailed the development as huge. One commented how ROH paid for the production of All In and how it is now owned by AEW.
Some said Khan’s purchase of the Baltimore-based promotion was not a game changer and he was just satisfying the current AEW fanbase and not bringing any new eyes to the product.

ROH paid for the production of ALL IN. ALL IN was the proof of concept for AEW. AEW ultimately led to the demise of ROH. ROH is now owned by AEW.
