Before WWE made any official announcement, a leaked press release in Arabic confirmed that WrestleMania 43 will take place in Saudi Arabia in 2027. That was clearly not meant to happen and now Turki Al-Sheikh has addressed the leak.

While speaking during the WrestleMania 43 press conference, Turki Al-Sheikh was asked what the WrestleMania announcement means for Saudi Arabia.

Al-Sheikh explained that a staff member had briefly posted the news on social media by mistake and quickly removed it. People went wild and thought it wasn’t real, but now the announcement has been confirmed as true.

“For those of us sitting back here stateside, what does it mean for Saudi Arabia to hear this big announcement that WrestleMania is coming to Saudi Arabia?’ He replied, ‘For two days, one of my office staff made a mistake and put something on his social media for two seconds and then took it down. People went crazy and didn’t believe it—and now it’s true.'”

Of course, WWE has already confirmed that WrestleMania 43 will be taking place in Riyadh, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This will be the first time the Grandest Stage of Them All will be taking place outside the U.S. and so it remains to be seen whether it will surpass all expectations.

Will WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia elevate WWE to new global heights, or do you prefer the event to stay closer to its U.S. roots? Share your thoughts and predictions in the comments below.
