Trish Stratus is finally speaking out about a potential WWE return—and she’s making it clear it all comes down to the right story.
After months of speculation, Trish Stratus addressed her future directly on March 30, 2026 while speaking to Sports Illustrated, opening up about what would actually bring her back to the ring. She started by laying out the biggest factor in her decision—and it’s not just timing, it’s the overall direction of WWE: “I need to see the landscape.” From there, Stratus explained that she’s always been driven by storytelling, and any return would need to feel meaningful for both her and the audience.
“I'm very story storyline driven. And for me, is it gonna be interesting for the fans? Is it something they wanna see?”
She also made it clear that a comeback isn’t about nostalgia—it has to serve a purpose, especially when it comes to helping elevate the current roster: “Is it gonna elevate someone?” And for Stratus, everything ultimately comes back to whether the story fits into WWE’s current creative direction.
“And of course, there's like the storyline behind it. I love the story, I wanna make sure it makes sense and I wanna make sure the landscape makes sense for me to enter into.”
Her comments come after she already sparked speculation earlier this year during a visit to WWE’s new headquarters, where she stopped in front of a wall featuring current champions—including Jade Cargill—and teased a possible return: “Maybe I need to return to this wall, just sayin’.”
That moment, combined with reports that WWE had discussed a potential run for her in 2025, has kept her name in the conversation heading into WrestleMania 42 season. Now, with Stratus finally addressing it directly, the message is clear—she’s open to coming back, but only if WWE presents a story that makes sense and adds value.
