Trish Stratus has already teased a possible WWE return—but now she’s taking it a step further by laying out exactly what it would take to get her back in the ring.
After recently hinting at another run during a visit to WWE HQ, Stratus addressed the situation again while speaking at Texas Comic Con—and this time, she made it clear a comeback isn’t just about showing up. It has to make sense.
When asked about returning, Stratus first pointed to how much the current women’s division has evolved, especially with the rise of physically dominant stars like Rhea Ripley, Nia Jax, Raquel Rodriguez, and Jade Cargill. That shift even made her question where she fits in today’s landscape.
“Like, I was like—Nia Jax came back. We got Rhea Ripley, Raquel Rodriguez is there, right? Okay—that was for Rodriguez. Rhea Ripley, right? Right. Nia Jax—and then we have Jade Cargill. And you’re kind of like, ‘Whoa.’ Like—and I was like, ‘Do I even fit in here?’”
Even with that uncertainty, Stratus made it clear she still believes she can hang with the current roster—and even thrive in that environment. From there, Stratus got into what really matters when it comes to a return—and that’s the creative direction. According to her, that’s the deciding factor above everything else.
“I have some techniques and some tactics that I think I could work the bigger girls in the ring, but I’m always up for a challenge. And honestly, I do enjoy working. I mean, of course I was a heel this time, but my underdog story—my little coming-from-behind—is kind of my thing. It has been my thing for many years. This is the thing—I’m like, well, it has to check the boxes. One is creative—what is the creative? What am I going to come back and do? Is it going to check these boxes?”
And instead of locking herself into a specific opponent, Stratus flipped the conversation outward—making it clear she’s open, but wants the right story to tell: “So I always turn it back to people and go, ‘I mean, I might go back—but who should I face? Tell me. I want to know.’”
That changes everything. This isn’t just a tease anymore—it’s a conditional return. Stratus isn’t looking to come back for the sake of it; she wants a story that matters and an opponent that makes sense in today’s WWE landscape.
With stars like Jade Cargill and Rhea Ripley leading the division, the possibilities are there—but it’s clear Stratus isn’t stepping in unless it’s worth it. If the right pitch comes along, this could go from speculation to reality fast—and if it does, it won’t just be a nostalgia run, it’ll be a calculated comeback.
