Triple H tried to hype up tonight’s WWE NXT with a late social media push, but instead, fans flooded the replies with outrage over one glaring absence—R-Truth.
Just over an hour before NXT went live on June 3, 2025, Triple H posted on Twitter, previewing the show and plugging the in-ring debut of WWE LFG winner Tyra Mae Steele (real name Mensah Tamara Stockton).
“#WWENXT features the best talent from across the entire industry… @_trickwilliams vs. @Santana_Proud – @ThisIsTNA Championship… @mylesborne_wwe vs. Charlie Dempsey… and the debut of #WWELFG winner @MensahTamStock. The final @WWENXT before a massive weekend in LA is LIVE tonight at 8pm ET on @TheCW.”
But despite the energy behind the post, fans weren’t letting WWE off the hook. Nearly every reply in Triple H’s thread was hijacked by the same chant that rang through the BOK Center on RAW the night before—“We want Truth.”
One user wrote simply, “WE WANT TRUTH.” Another followed up with, “We hate you. #WeWantTruth.” Dozens more echoed the message, some calling out WWE leadership directly: “No one cares about the product,” one fan ranted, while another added, “Hopefully R-Truth shows up.” The replies were packed with variations of “WE WANT TRUTH!!!!!!” and “🗣️BRING BACK R-TRUTH!! WE WANT R-TRUTH…WE WANT R-TRUTH…WE WANT R-TRUTH 🫡.”
The online firestorm reignited after WWE opted not to renew R-Truth’s contract. There is also another reporting alleging that WWE may have offered him a low ball deal. Despite his long-standing popularity and even appearing on Saturday Night’s Main Event, the company opted not to renew his contract—an announcement that blindsided fans.
The backlash spilled into live events, with “We want Truth” chants overtaking the first match of RAW during a Women’s Money in the Bank Qualifier. Viewers at home noticed immediately, with commentary struggling to stay heard over the crowd’s protest.
Tonight’s NXT episode was already packed with a title defense from Trick Williams, a Rounds Match between Myles Borne and Charlie Dempsey, and a six-man tag featuring Chase U and DarkState. But it’s Tyra Mae Steele’s debut that WWE hoped would add a spark. That momentum, however, is getting drowned out by the noise of a fanbase refusing to let go of one of its most beloved veterans.
WWE wanted hype. What they got instead was a warning shot from fans—and this one isn’t going away quietly.
