Triple H is stepping outside the squared circle and into Washington—joining the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition in a personal push to tackle what he’s calling a public health emergency for kids across America.
Speaking to Fox News on January 17, 2026, the WWE Hall of Famer got personal about why he said yes to the presidential appointment—and it started with his own transformation as a scrawny 14-year-old in Nashua, New Hampshire.
“At 14, I was about six feet tall, pimple-faced and 130 pounds soaking wet,” Triple H recalled. “I couldn’t do a single pull-up when I started. But the gym helped me think of myself in a different way. It allowed me to envision what I wanted to be.”
That early spark ignited a lifelong passion for fitness—and now, he’s using his platform to call out a crisis that’s hitting too close to home for millions of families. Triple H cited skyrocketing rates of obesity and childhood diabetes—saying one in five American kids are now obese, a 270% increase over the past 50 years.
“Our health has dramatically declined over the past few decades. Our children, in particular, are facing a crisis. We’re allowing our kids to eat super-sized portions of ultra-processed food and spend too much time on their butts, looking at screens.”
Now, under President Trump’s executive order reviving the Presidential Fitness Test, Triple H says the Council is focused on rebuilding healthier habits through school programs, community outreach, and sustainable movement—not just hardcore gym workouts.
“Just a daily 15-minute walk significantly reduces one’s risk of early mortality. So, get outside, move, begin pushing yourself. Start small, progress gradually—as long as you keep showing up.”
He made it clear: this isn’t just about athletes or future Superstars—it’s about everyone, especially people who don’t consider themselves “fit.” And to anyone struggling to start? Triple H had one final message.
“I’m not writing this for those who already think of themselves as athletes so much as those who don’t. The reward is on the other side of difficult. It doesn’t matter if you can’t do a single pullup, pushup or sit-up. It matters if you try. If you keep trying, you will.”
Triple H isn’t just talking about physical fitness—he’s talking about changing lives. From WWE rings to the national stage, he’s now leading the charge to help a new generation fight back against obesity, poor nutrition, and sedentary living.
