Triple H made it clear—WWE’s women don’t get handed the main event spot just to check a box.

Speaking at the Sloan Analytics Conference alongside Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bejaria, WWE’s Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque emphasized that main event slots are purely based on merit.

“I don’t give women the main event because they’re women and it would look good. If they’re in the main event, it’s because they earned it. If they’re not, it’s because something else is resonating more,” Levesque stated.

WWE has significantly elevated its women’s division in recent years, with stars like Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, and Rhea Ripley proving they belong in top spots. But Triple H made it clear that gender alone isn’t what determines who closes a show—it’s about drawing power and audience investment.

The comment sparked reactions from fans, especially as women have headlined WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, and other major WWE events. Some agree with Levesque’s take, while others argue that women still face an uphill battle for equal opportunities despite their talent.

Netflix’s Bejaria also dropped some massive numbers at the event, revealing that Netflix’s 300 million worldwide subscribers actually reach about 700 million people—an average of 2.3 viewers per account. WWE’s move to Netflix for RAW in 2025 is set to put even more eyes on the company, making the battle for main event spots even more competitive.
