Triple H finally addressed the situation surrounding the IYO SKY vs. Stephanie Vaquer Women’s World Title match—but his comments only raised more questions.
During his September 9 appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, The Game listed off matches for WWE WrestlePalooza and didn’t hesitate when it came to the Women’s World Championship bout.
“Yeah, IYO SKY vs. Stephanie Vaquer for the Women’s Title.”
That seemed to confirm the match is still on for September 20. But when co-hosts asked whether the contract had actually been signed on RAW—the segment that was announced but never aired—Triple H quickly pivoted and played it off with a smirk.
“To be honest, I wasn’t there last night. I haven’t had a chance to watch the show yet because I was at Kill Tony.”
While Triple H’s tone was light, it was clear he carefully avoided giving a direct answer. The contract signing was supposed to take place on RAW’s September 8 episode, but it was pulled with no explanation. WWE talent and viewers alike were left wondering what happened to Vaquer—and whether something was going on behind the scenes.
Triple H’s comments may have been in character, or they may have been designed to leave the door open for a bigger storyline twist. Either way, WWE continues to advertise the match as happening at WrestlePalooza… despite never showing it being made official.
Do you think Triple H was just protecting the storyline—or is there more to the Vaquer situation than we’re being told? Let us know what you think in the comments.
