Former WWE writer Vince Russo isn’t holding back when it comes to Triple H’s creative approach in WWE.
During a recent appearance on The Wrestling Outlaws, Russo took aim at the WWE creative team, specifically the atmosphere in the writer’s room under Triple H’s leadership.
Referencing a glimpse inside the writer’s room shown in the trailer for the upcoming Netflix docuseries WWE Unreal, Russo criticized the overly corporate vibe, saying it kills creativity. “I saw a still photo in the writer’s room… You’ve got a bunch of guys sitting in a board room with suits and ties. That’s a creative meeting? That is what it looks like? And then we wonder why there’s no creativity in this? You can’t be creative like that!” Russo said.
Russo went further, implying that the presence of Triple H at the head of the table makes the writers walk on eggshells, preventing them from freely expressing creative ideas. “How do you work like that? And Triple H is sitting at the head of the table, so you know that they’re all in their best behavior. We’ve got to make sure we pitch him something he likes. How do you work like that, man?” he added.
Russo and former WWE star EC3 also voiced their support for Scarlett, Karrion Kross’ manager, suggesting she deserves a stronger push in the women’s division.
