Joe Hendry’s tag team outing on the May 6 episode of WWE NXT didn’t go as planned—and he has Trick Williams to thank for that.
Hendry joined forces with Hank Walker and Tank Ledger to face off against the undefeated trio known as DarkState—Cutler James, Dion Lennox, and Osiris Griffin. The match opened the show and delivered a strong back-and-forth pace as both sides battled for control.
But things went sideways fast when Hendry set up for his Standing Ovation finisher. Just as he was about to strike, Trick Williams ran down to the ring and yanked Hendry to the outside. The unexpected interference left Tank Ledger alone in the ring, and DarkState didn’t waste any time. They dropped Tank with their signature super swing Powerbomb and scored another win to keep their unbeaten streak alive.
DarkState has been unstoppable since arriving in NXT, and this latest win only builds their momentum. As for Hendry and Trick, the tension continues to boil over.
Their issues have been simmering ever since Hendry publicly took shots at the NXT Champion the week after WrestleMania 41, calling him “a whiny little bitch.” That line hasn’t been forgotten, and Monday’s interference may be a sign of more trouble to come.
