Trick Williams is riding a wave of momentum heading toward WrestleMania 42, and a recent win on WWE SmackDown might be the moment that pushed him to the next level.
Williams appeared on SportsCenter to discuss his rapid rise since joining the SmackDown roster earlier this year. During the conversation, the hosts brought up his recent victory over Jacob Fatu, a dangerous opponent widely known for his power and intensity in the ring.
The match didn’t come without controversy. Drew McIntyre interfered during the bout, which helped Williams secure the win. Even so, Williams made it clear that he isn’t apologizing for the result. From his perspective, a victory over someone as dangerous as Fatu is a huge milestone regardless of how the finish unfolded.
“Man, you know, uh that is just uh you know, that's just how the game goes sometimes. Drew McIntyre, he did interfere. Jacob Fatu, of course, is a great formidable opponent. He's a mad man. You know what I mean? He's a monster, but at the end of the day, it's just about getting the job done. And that's what I had to do on Friday. That's my biggest win yet. So, um, yeah, man. We got the momentum going.”
Williams didn’t shy away from acknowledging McIntyre’s involvement, but he also made it clear that the result still counts in the record books. Beating someone with Fatu’s reputation is a major step for any WWE star, especially someone still building momentum on the main roster.
With WrestleMania season underway, Williams appears confident that moments like this will continue to elevate his status. His recent performances and growing fan support have already made him one of the more talked-about rising stars on SmackDown, and he clearly believes the momentum is only getting started. A victory over Jacob Fatu may have come with a little chaos, but for Trick Williams, it still represents the biggest win of his WWE career so far.
Do you think Trick Williams’ win over Jacob Fatu proves he’s ready for a bigger spotlight in WWE? Should this momentum carry him into a major match at WrestleMania? Let us know what you think and drop your thoughts in the comments.
