Former WWE star Trevor Lee is calling out the indie wrestling world after Syko Stu was savagely beaten during a match gone wrong—placing the blame squarely on the promoter for failing to protect talent.

The incident occurred at a recent Knox Pro event where MMA legend Rampage Jackson’s son, Raja Jackson, went completely off-script and assaulted Syko Stu in the middle of the ring. What was supposed to be a planned spot spiraled out of control as Raja took Stu down and repeatedly punched him in the head, leaving him hospitalized with serious injuries.

Trevor Lee didn’t hold back in his reaction, making it clear that the blame doesn’t lie solely with Raja—but with those in charge of the event. He posted on Twitter:

“Seeing what happened last night makes me sick for the business. Wrestlers learn to protect yourselves because these promoters do not give a f** about protecting you.”*

What makes the situation even more disturbing is that Syko Stu had already apologized to Raja before the match for accidentally hitting him in the head with a fan during a prior moment. The two even shook hands after the apology, believing they had cleared the air—only for Raja to turn violent once they were in the ring.

Syko Stu’s condition remains serious as he continues to recover in the hospital. Meanwhile, the wrestling community is calling for accountability—especially for promoters who are putting untrained or unpredictable individuals in matches with professionals.

Trevor Lee’s blunt statement has struck a nerve with fans and wrestlers alike, many of whom agree that safety protocols are falling apart on the indie scene. If promoters aren’t going to protect their talent, who will?
