Travis Scott won’t be making an appearance at WWE Backlash this weekend. Despite speculation that he might show up following his controversial involvement in the WrestleMania 41 main event, Scott has officially skipped town.
Ringside News obtained a photo of Scott landing in Barcelona on Friday, just days ahead of the El Clásico event scheduled for Sunday.
Scott’s role at WrestleMania 41 left a sour taste in the mouths of many fans, especially after he cost Cody Rhodes the Undisputed WWE Championship against John Cena. Bully Ray was among those who voiced their displeasure, slamming Scott for not taking a real hit from Rhodes. “Cause Travis Scott was too much of a punkass to take the receipt,” Ray said on Busted Open Radio, suggesting that Scott’s refusal to get physical hurt the match’s storyline.
Now, with Scott in Spain and John Cena set to defend his title against Randy Orton in what’s being billed as their final showdown, it looks like any chance of a revenge spot has been scrapped for now. With Cena and Orton set to collide for the Undisputed WWE Championship, Scott’s absence adds another layer of unpredictability to an already loaded card.
