On WrestleMania 41 Sunday, John Cena beat Cody Rhodes to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion thanks to interference from Travis Scott, which was Scott’s last appearance on WWE television. With Money in the Bank drawing near, it appears Scott has been flaking and this has led to some changes in WWE’s plans for him.

While speaking on Behind the Turnbuckle with Vince Russo, Jonathan Coachman talked about Cody Rhodes returning after a month at Saturday Night’s Main Event and instead of challenging John Cena to a one-on-one match, Cody set up a tag team match for Money in the Bank. Right now, Cody Rhodes will team with Jey Uso to face John Cena and Logan Paul at Money in the Bank.

“That setup Cena getting involved and Cody making his return after a month at Saturday Night’s Main Event, which then led to the tag match for Money in the Bank that Cody apparently is now making matches.

For whatever reason, Cody Rhodes came out and instead of saying, ‘John Cena, I want you at Money in the Bank one-on-one,’ he made a tag team match. Jey Uso is his partner, and then you’ve got Cena. Logan Paul’s with Cena.”

However, Coachman stated that it was supposed to be Travis Scott involved in the match, and that he was meant to team with John Cena. However, Travis Scott is now flaking since he hasn’t shown up, and nothing has happened with that plan.

Jonathan Coachman also said fans haven’t seen Travis Scott since WrestleMania 41, nor The Rock since the Pat McAfee Show, and WWE is now scrambling to come up with a new plan.

“It was supposed to be Travis Scott, but Travis Scott, we are hearing, is flaking. It’s very widely known, Vince, that Travis Scott was supposed to be training with Booker T and he was supposed to be in this tag match. That didn’t happen. Let’s not forget the storyline, guys. It was just the three of them—Cena, Cody, and Travis Scott. Yep. That’s why he’s got to be brought forward, and he’s not. We have not seen him, nor have we seen The Rock since Pat McAfee. And so now they’re scrambling to figure this out.”

Coachman stated that he heard that there was going to be a six-man tag team match at SummerSlam after the Money in the Bank match, but that could change now that Travis isn’t showing up. He finished by saying that if Travis Scott doesn’t show up, WWE won’t get the attention of his fans. He thinks the crossover idea with Travis didn’t really work out.

“I have heard, Vince—and maybe it’s changed now that Travis Scott is not showing up—but he’s not. I have that on good authority that SummerSlam is supposed to be a six-man tag after the tag at Money in the Bank. But Money in the Bank was supposed to be Travis Scott and John Cena against Cody and Logan—or excuse me, you know what I mean, Jey Uso. But if he’s not showing up, then you’re not going to get his followers, because his followers aren’t going to watch it. I don’t think the crossover worked.”

This comes after reports have noted that WWE has plans for Travis Scott to appear at the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event on June 7th. Regardless, we’ll have to see whether Travis Scott will eventually make his in-ring debut this year as it’s clear the company still wants to feature him in a big way.
