Torrie Wilson isn’t shy about revisiting one of the most headline‑grabbing parts of her WWE career.
During her appearance on The Wrestling Classic, the WWE Hall of Famer opened up about how her two Playboy covers came together — and why she jumped at the chance.
She explained that the first offer came directly from Jim Ross during a TV taping, and she didn’t hesitate to say yes.
“I was at TV one day. JR said, ‘Hey, Tori, do you have a second? I want to talk to you about something.’ And we were literally standing in the ramp during the middle of the day. And he was like, ‘Playboy wants to do a spread with you. Are you interested?’ I was like, ‘Yep. I don’t even have to think about it.’”
Torrie says she had always admired the magazine and knew what it could do for her career.
“Yes. Yes. Like, I love Playboy. I knew that was a great opportunity.”
The second shoot, which paired her with Sable, was actually their own idea. She revealed they hatched the plan while on location in Mexico for a bikini shoot and pitched it directly to Vince McMahon.
“The second one came about when Sable and I were in Mexico on one of those bikini shoots and we were like, ‘You know what we should do? We should take photos together and then show Vince and be like, we should do a storyline where we do Playboy together.’ And we’re both thinking like, this is a great payday for us again, right? And of course, he loved the idea.”
Torrie Wilson’s honesty shows just how much of her own career she steered during one of WWE’s most talked‑about eras. From saying yes without hesitation to creating the second spread herself, she played a major role in two of the most famous Playboy issues tied to professional wrestling. Torrie Wilson’s Playboy appearances became iconic moments for WWE’s Divas era, but hearing her describe how they came about adds a whole new perspective.
