AEW President Tony Khan spoke with the wrestling media on Thursday, December 4, 2025, to promote Friday’s ROH Final Battle pay-per-view.

Tony Khan said he’s had chances to put ROH on TV with good media partners, but AEW is the main priority because of its $500 million deal. He doesn’t expect ROH to get the same kind of deal, but any TV deal for ROH needs to make sense and be the right fit. He confirmed there has been interest. Tony Khan added that HonorClub still brings in solid revenue, even without a TV deal.

When asked if Zayda Steel has signed with AEW or ROH, Tony Khan said to “stay tuned.” He called a potential match between Steel and Leila Grey an “interesting match,” hinting that an announcement could be coming soon, possibly for Friday’s Final Battle event.

Tony Khan said the best part of buying Ring of Honor was getting the Briscoes. He compared it to Jim Crockett’s acquisition of the UWF, saying the best thing he got out of that deal was Sting.

Tony Khan joked that the “secret” to good booking is doing tapings. He said he enjoys them because they save money and help prevent injuries, among other benefits. He also called this year the “most complete” and best year for ROH’s TV and streaming specials since he took over the company.

Tony Khan was asked about using a Jack Harlow song for Blake Christian’s entrance. He said there’s been no real progress so far—just “1% approval.” Khan joked that if he can get the other 99% of stakeholders on board, he’ll make it happen.

When asked about Nick Wayne and the possibility of an interim ROH Men’s TV Title, Tony Khan said the timeline on Wayne’s injury changed. He admitted he would’ve bet money that Wayne would be back before Final Battle, and if that had happened, they would’ve gone with an interim title. Khan added that Wayne is getting closer to returning.

Tony Khan confirmed that Queen Aminata is still injured, which is why her ROH Women’s Pure semifinal match against Deonna Purrazzo didn’t take place. As a result, Purrazzo advances to the final by forfeit and will face either Billie Starkz or Yuka Sakazaki this Friday.

When asked if Mercedes Moné could become more of a regular in ROH, Tony Khan said he hopes so. He referred to her as a “free agent” that ROH brought in.

That concluded the call.
