AEW President Tony Khan spoke to the wrestling media on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, to promote Saturday’s AEW All In Texas pay-per-view. Refresh for live updates.

Khan opened the call by noting it’s a big week for AEW, with Dynamite on Wednesday, Collision on Thursday, ROH Supercard of Honor on Friday, and All In Texas also taking place on Friday. He then opened the floor for questions.

Jon Alba asked about the lawsuit involving a production crew member and Jon Moxley, specifically what protocols are in place for talent working with the crew. Khan said it wasn’t the way he hoped to start the call but explained he couldn’t comment on pending legal matters.

Sean Ross Sapp asked if Mercedes Mone has creative control and calls her own shots. Tony Khan said that’s “definitely not true, at all.” He praised Mone but made it clear that he is the only person with creative control in AEW. Khan said the company is the most focused it’s been in years, partly because he’s not listening to as many outside voices.

Khan also praised Toni Storm and said he meets with both Mone and Storm at least once a week. He acknowledged Jennifer Pepperman’s involvement with Mone and noted that RJ City serves as his assistant. Despite the collaboration, Khan stressed that he has the final say on everything.

Tony Khan spoke highly of working with the team at Globe Life Field and said he’s also been in talks with Major League Baseball clients about future opportunities.

When asked about unifying the AEW Continental and AEW International Championships, Khan clarified that he never said either title would be retired. He confirmed the Continental Classic will return and that the lineage of both championships will carry over into the new AEW Unified Championship. Khan said he wanted to make the match and the event feel special, pointing out that although AEW has had multiple men’s and women’s titles for six years, this is the first true winner-takes-all match between two champions.

Ella Jay asked if fans should expect surprises in the Casino Gauntlet matches. Tony Khan didn’t rule it out but said the focus will mainly be on talent already featured on AEW television. He added that he’s excited to present two Casino Gauntlet matches on the same show.

Dominic DeAngelo asked Tony Khan about Mark Briscoe’s rise and whether he sees him as a potential world champion. Khan noted that Briscoe has already been a world champion in ROH and has always had a strong connection with fans throughout his career. He called Briscoe a great person both in and out of the ring and said he believes Mark could be a champion in any company or division.

Khan shared that it’s always emotional when AEW runs shows in Texas, especially at the Curtis Culwell Center, because it’s where he first met and worked with Mark and Jay Briscoe. He praised the Briscoes’ trilogy with FTR and said they’re the first people he thinks of when he walks into that venue. Khan recalled the last time he saw Jay Briscoe was at ROH Final Battle 2022 in Texas and expressed regret that AEW never had the chance to feature the Briscoes together on television.

He added that the sky is the limit for Mark in AEW and said he believes Jay is watching over everything happening in both AEW and ROH, especially over his brother. Khan also called Mark one of the locker room leaders in AEW.

Tony Khan was asked to reflect on Swerve Strickland’s growth over the past year. He praised Swerve’s in-ring work and highlighted his upcoming match alongside Will Ospreay against The Young Bucks at All In Texas. Khan also spoke highly of Swerve’s presence outside the ring, noting his appearances at major mainstream events and calling him a franchise player for AEW.

Khan announced that several changes have been made to ROH Supercard of Honor due to injuries in both AEW and ROH. He mentioned Jamie Hayter being out longer than expected, which led to some call-ups. Khan described ROH as both a complementary brand to AEW and a standalone promotion. He praised Queen Aminata for stepping up and making the most of her opportunity, calling her hardworking and impressive. Khan said he had hoped to start the ROH Pure Championship tournament earlier, but injuries delayed those plans.

He also gave an update on Red Velvet, saying she’s been doing an excellent job as ROH TV Champion and representing the brand in CMLL. Khan revealed that she was injured in Mexico and hasn’t wrestled since, although he believes she’ll recover. However, she won’t be cleared in time to defend her title at Supercard of Honor. As a result, an interim ROH Women’s TV Champion will be crowned at the event. This decision also contributed to the delay in launching the Pure Rules tournament.

Bill Pritchard asked about the changes to the date and location of Supercard of Honor. Khan said there was only one change and viewed it as a positive move. He dismissed a rumor mentioned by Pritchard about the event being held in Las Vegas, saying there was nothing to that story.

Bill Bodkin asked Tony Khan about Hangman Page’s development. Khan said Page has grown from a top prospect into a true main event star. He recalled how Page was seen as a very promising young talent when AEW launched and now considers him to be in his prime. Khan added that fans see the good man behind the Hangman character and connect with him on that level.

Khan closed the call by saying it’s a “great, great time for AEW” and also a strong period for professional wrestling overall. He confirmed there will be another media scrum following AEW All In Texas and reminded everyone that Collision will air on Thursday this week instead of Saturday. That wrapped up the call.
