Ever since AEW debuted back in 2019, many fans instantly started taking sides between AEW and WWE and it really hasn’t changed much since then. However, AEW President Tony Khan has made it very clear now that he really doesn’t want anyone to gatekeep AEW, especially from WWE fans.

A writer for SuperLuchas took to Twitter and revealed that lately, more WWE fans are starting to ask questions about AEW and want to watch it. He then asked whether AEW fans should gatekeep the promotion or they should let the WWE fans in, saying, “Lately fed fans are asking questions about AEW and wanting to watch it. Should we gatekeep this promotion or letting them in?”

AEW President Tony Khan responded by saying there’s no need to gatekeep. He asked fans to welcome new viewers to AEW with open arms, as he said, “Please gatekeep nothing, sir. Please welcome these people to AEW with arms wide open.”

This comes after there has been growing frustration among WWE fans after the company released R-TruthCarlito and most recently, Sarah Logan. To add to that, AEW has been firing on all cylinders lately and has been producing a solid product for their weekly shows and pay-per-views.

AEW is showing that all fans are welcome, no matter where they come from, including WWE. Tony Khan’s open attitude could help bring different wrestling fanbases together. As AEW keeps growing, this could be a great time for curious WWE fans to start watching so we’ll have to see if more WWE fans end up watching AEW.

Should AEW fans embrace new viewers from WWE, or do you think the rivalry between fanbases is healthy for the industry? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
