Tony Khan wants Shaq back in an AEW ring—and he’s not being subtle about it. While speaking at Sportico’s Invest in Sports: New York event at NASDAQ headquarters, the AEW President revealed that his top “dream signing” from the world of sports and entertainment isn’t a wrestler or an actor—it’s Shaquille O’Neal.

“For me, the best person we had, and I would love for him to come back any time, would be Shaq,” Khan said. “Shaq’s 1-0, but then he’s been away from AEW. He disappeared out of the ambulance in 2021 and we haven’t seen him since.”

“So I would love to get Shaq back in the ring. He’s gotta be one of the all-time greatest stars ever in basketball, and he’s undefeated in AEW.”

Shaq’s one and only AEW match took place on the March 3, 2021 episode of Dynamite, where he teamed with Jade Cargill in her debut to defeat Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet in a mixed tag match. The moment went viral when Shaq was sent crashing through a table, only to mysteriously vanish from an ambulance backstage moments later.

Since then, Shaq hasn’t been seen in AEW—but Khan clearly hasn’t forgotten, and the door is wide open for a return.
