Tony Khan isn’t just monitoring the wrestling free agent scene—he’s actively making moves behind the scenes.
During Super Bowl Week, the AEW President sat down with 107.7 The Bone’s Baby Huey and was asked directly about the surge in talent signings. Referencing a report that claimed AEW had quietly signed more names yet to be announced, Huey pushed Khan for clarity. And while Khan didn’t name names, he didn’t dodge the question either. Khan kept it short, but the message was loud and clear:
“I am constantly evaluating the market and scouting for fantastic wrestlers if they’re available to join AEW. And AEW’s where the best wrestle and it will be for a long time.”
That’s not a tease—it’s a signal. AEW has already brought in major names like Tommaso Ciampa, who debuted and won the TNT Championship in rapid fashion. But according to Khan, there’s more coming—and soon.
The AEW boss made the comment in the middle of a wide-ranging conversation that included updates on Andrade’s return, Will Ospreay’s recovery, and the future of touring. Khan made it clear that AEW’s machine never stops, and they’re always positioned to plug in top-tier talent.
“We tour 52 weeks a year. A lot of people don’t know pro wrestling is the only sport that goes 52 weeks a year with no offseason. We do this every week. It’s a never-ending tour of the world, and we go largely across America every week and all kinds of cool different places.”
Khan praised his team for knowing how to find the right venues and build around dynamic locations:
“I love working with our live events team. They do a great job identifying great venues, different shapes and sizes and different markets.”
That non-stop schedule means there’s always room to debut fresh names. And with Khan keeping close tabs on who’s out there, the free agent door is wide open.
“AEW is where the best wrestle,” he repeated—emphasizing that AEW isn’t just where talent goes. It’s where they thrive.
Tony Khan has made it clear: the next wave of AEW signings is coming, and they’re not just filler—they’re potential difference-makers.
