Tony Khan just left the door wide open for a potential reunion with Killer Kross—and it sounds like he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of working together in AEW.
During his interview with Ariel Helwani, Khan was asked directly if he ever considered signing Killer Kross when the former WWE star was a free agent. Khan admitted the two hadn’t spoken in years, but still held a high opinion of him.
“I have not spoken to him in many, many years,” Khan revealed when asked if any talks ever took place between AEW and Kross.
He then elaborated further, showing genuine respect for Kross’ talent and recalling a moment when Darby Allin worked a match against Kross on the indies.
“That’s interesting. I’m not sure. I like Killer Kross. It’d be interesting at some point to talk to him again. It’s been a long time since I’ve talked to him,” Khan continued.
The AEW President also noted that he had cleared Darby’s schedule so he could wrestle Kross at an independent show in New York, the same day Darby appeared at a Comic Con panel for AEW and DC. Khan didn’t see Kross that night, but he admitted it could’ve been a perfect time to reconnect:
“Darby left early to go do that match with Killer Kross, which was great that he was able to do both things,” Khan said. “I didn’t get to see him that night. That probably would have been a great chance to reconnect with him.”
And he closed the conversation with a strong endorsement of Kross:
“I think he’s tremendous… It would definitely be worth reconnecting.”
Tony Khan clearly hasn’t forgotten about Killer Kross—and while nothing is in motion, there’s no denying the respect is mutual. Could we see the former NXT star step into an AEW ring someday?
