Darby Allin didn’t have to wait long to learn when his AEW World Title opportunity would happen, because Tony Khan confirmed the timing right after Dynasty went off the air.

At AEW Dynasty 2026 in Vancouver, Darby Allin defeated Andrade El Ídolo to earn the #1 contender spot for the AEW World Championship. Later that night, MJF survived Kenny Omega in the main event to keep his title, setting the stage for Allin to be the next challenger.

During the AEW Dynasty post-media scrum, Tony Khan opened things up with a major update about the title picture. He explained that MJF left quickly after the show, but noted that he intended to inform him that Darby Allin will receive his AEW World Championship match this Wednesday on the Spring BreakThru edition of AEW Dynamite.

That means Allin won’t be waiting weeks for his opportunity. Instead, he’s getting his title shot just days after earning the #1 contender spot, making this Wednesday’s Dynamite one of the biggest shows coming out of Dynasty.

MJF barely held onto the championship against Kenny Omega, and now he’ll have to turn around and defend it again almost immediately. That tight turnaround could play a big role in how this title match unfolds.

Darby Allin has the momentum and now the date is locked in, but the pressure is on to see if he can take advantage of the opportunity when it arrives. Do you think Darby Allin will walk out of Dynamite as the new AEW World Champion, or will MJF find another way to hold onto the title? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
