Gabe Kidd’s injury situation just got more serious—and now Tony Khan has confirmed he’s not coming back anytime soon.
The update comes after Gabe Kidd was pulled from action during the AEW Trios Title match at AEW Dynasty, where he was taken to the back mid-match following a scary moment. While early reports pointed to a possible dislocated shoulder, there hadn’t been official confirmation—until now.
Speaking at the AEW Dynasty post-show media scrum, Tony Khan addressed Kidd’s condition and made it clear the situation is still developing—but serious enough to keep him sidelined: “Gabe is out indefinitely. It’s a shoulder injury—we will be evaluating him.”
Khan also explained that the exact severity is still unknown, with doctors continuing to assess the damage: “So I can’t say for sure what the injury is, but the doctors are evaluating him for an injury.”
Kidd’s removal from the match already forced a major shift in the bout’s outcome, with new champions crowned after the plan had to be adjusted on the fly. Now, the focus shifts to how long he could be out and what this means for his role moving forward. Bottom line: Kidd went down mid-match, and now AEW is bracing for a potentially lengthy absence while doctors figure out the full extent of the injury.
