Tony Khan is always looking for a new way to promote AEW television. This recently included dropping a video with a former WWE announcer who made a lot of memories with the competition.
Former WWE personality Scott Sanford showed up with Tony Khan in a new video to promote the December 24 episode of AEW Dynamite. Khan posted that video along with a caption to garner attention.
Starting *TONIGHT* Christmas Eve, @AEW is perfect for your holiday TV! Christmas Eve #AEWDynamite 6pm ET/5pm CT, on TBS + HBO Max EARLY start time on Christmas Eve! *TONIGHT*! + Christmas #AEWCollision 9pm ET/8pm CT, on TNT + HBO Max LATE start time on Christmas Night TOMORROW!
Scott Stanford was a longtime WWE host, who left the company in July 2025 after a 15-year run. He was mainly the face behind digital media by the time he was done with WWE.
Sanford’s time in WWE was memorable, but his exit was also a long time coming. As WWE continued shifting its attention toward televised programming like RAW, SmackDown, and Premium Live Events, Scott Sanford’s role became less essential. The decision was mutual and handled on good terms, with Stanford sharing on social media that he’s thankful for his time there and open to returning if the opportunity ever comes up.
We will have to see what is next for him, but this was certainly an unexpected surprise to see him alongside Tony Khan. Only time will tell if he ends up making more regular AEW appearances.
