Tony Khan isn’t stepping back from AEW creative anytime soon—if anything, he’s more involved than ever.
While Jon Moxley has been leading the charge with the Death Riders storyline and RJ City has been shaping the Toni Storm and Mariah May saga, sources say Khan remains firmly in control of AEW’s overall direction.
According to Fightful Select, AEW sources were pumped about how things played out during the latest Collision: Homecoming episode at Daily’s Place, which featured the return of ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm, a showdown between Konosuke Takeshita and Katsuyori Shibata, and Kazuchika Okada vs. Komander.
Despite some creative responsibilities being delegated, Khan is reportedly still deep in the trenches, making sure AEW’s vision stays on course. The report states that he has been “in the weeds” creatively, ensuring every major storyline gets the attention it needs.
Love him or hate him, Tony Khan isn’t loosening his grip on AEW creative just yet. While others are stepping up behind the scenes, he’s still calling the shots and making sure the company stays on track. With AEW continuing to grow and evolve, it’ll be interesting to see if Khan eventually takes a step back—or if he plans to stay “in the weeds” for the long haul.
