AEW may be inching closer to holding an all-women’s pay-per-view—and according to Athena, it’s not just a possibility, it’s already on Tony Khan’s radar.

During an interview with WFAA, the reigning ROH Women’s World Champion addressed the question head-on. When asked about the idea of AEW doing a women-only show—something neither AEW nor WWE has done recently—Athena confirmed that Khan has thought it through.

“Absolutely. I know Tony Khan has absolutely thought about that. I think it’s just about timing when it comes to those things, and he’s been very open about it.”

Athena didn’t hold back in putting over the AEW and Ring of Honor women’s locker rooms, calling it the best in the world.

“We have the best roster in the world — and I know everyone says that, but we actually do.”

She went on to name several key players in the division, including herself, AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Moné, Toni Storm, and Alex Windsor. According to Athena, both AEW and ROH are vital platforms for developing talent and getting women the spotlight they deserve.

“We have Mercedes Moné, Toni Storm, myself — the minion overlord and forever ROH Champion. We have a very stacked roster with a lot of eager women. We have Alex Windsor, and we have a beautiful platform where we get to see these women grow on Ring of Honor and then move up through AEW.”

Khan’s renewed focus on women’s wrestling has already resulted in the launch of the AEW Women’s Tag Team Titles, with a tournament coming soon. Athena believes this is part of the gradual build needed before a standalone women’s pay-per-view becomes reality.

“So yes, absolutely, I know it’s something TK has in mind, especially with the tag team tournament coming up. I just think we need to take baby steps and establish more people to get there. But yes, it’s definitely been on his mind since I’ve been at AEW — it’s just a matter of timing.”

Athena’s comments give a clearer picture of AEW’s long-term vision. Tony Khan appears committed to growing the women’s division step-by-step—and that includes the eventual rollout of an all-women’s pay-per-view.
